The fire that erupted at night in Beit Meri only lasted for hours, before igniting again due to the speed of the wind and bad weather, causing houses to be surrounded.

About half an hour, which can be described as “crazy”, lived by the people of Beit Meri at noon, along with the civil defense personnel, who struggled to control the fire with one fire engine that is closest to the tongues. .

Residents appealed to water tankers in neighboring towns and civil defense centers in the area to intervene and supply water to the car so that it could resume its work. The army helicopters are also working to put out the fire that broke out in Beit Meri through the helicopters.

For his part, the Director General of Civil Defense, Brigadier Raymond Khattar, confirmed that “work is underway with all the available capabilities in our hands and with the support of the army, and we seek to intensify efforts to protect people and their livelihoods, because the area of ​​the fire is large in Beit Meri.” He said, “I do not want to pre-empt investigations, but it seems that today’s fire artificial".

Operations to extinguish the fire that broke out yesterday in the woods of Beit Meri - Monteverde are still continuing, after it was controlled at night, and the civil defense vehicles, with the support of the army’s helicopter, are trying to contain the fire that engulfed a large area of ​​pine trees, amid an appeal to the concerned people to intervene for fear of the flames spreading to residential buildings.
